Electric motors are among the largest consumers of electricity globally. To enhance economic and sustainability outcomes, there is a growing emphasis on improving the efficiency of motors employed in fixed-speed applications. Consequently, a hybrid technology known as Line Start Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors (LSPMSM) has been recently introduced. LSPMSM can start directly from the grid and operates with super-premium IE4 class efficiency. This seminar aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the design intricacies of this motor and introduce an analytical approach for determining its optimal design for various industrial applications.
