Summer School Organization

    University of Lille Lille 1 is one of the leading science universities in France.     L2EPThe L2EP was created thanks to the will of four establishments, in partnership, to regroup, in the same laboratory all the activities of research in electrical engineering: University Lille 1, Arts et Métiers ParisTech, Ecole Centrale de Lille, Hautes Etudes d'Ingénieur. During the last ten years the researchers have developed expertise in the fundamental domains of electrical energy. Their domains are power electronics and the control and development of numerical tools.

    IRCICA (in French, Institut de Recherche sur les Composants logiciels et matériels pour l’Information et la Communication Avancée) is a project based research institute created in 2003. It is a common research unit between CNRS and University of Lille, dedicated to interdisciplinary project development. About 130 scientists including 50 PhD students and postdocs are currently working in IRCICA within four main research themes: ultra low power sensor networks, haptic and tactile interfaces, bio inspired information processing, photonic devices and optical fibers. Three experimental platforms related to these topics are located at IRCICA:
    -Fibertech, design and fabrication of new optical fibers
    -Telecom, design and characterization of communication systems
    -PIRVI, interactions and virtual reality

ECTS

A students attending the whole summer school and sending a summary of maximum 6 pages within june 5 will have the possibility to receive a certificate valid for 3 ECTS. The credits will be assigned after the evaluation of the manuscript. The summary should be sent to eric.vezzoli@ed.univ-lille1.fr.

Several hotels are available on the city center as well near the university campus, the starting price is around 50 euro for the cheapest.

A student accomodation near the campus is available for the fellows at a price of 57,75 euro for night. The accomodation consists in a fully equipped appartement with a 2 persons bed. This facility is only available for the four nights booking.

Transport

Lille is easily reachable by train from London, Paris and Bruxelles with Eurostar or TGV.
The local airport, Lille Lesquin, or Paris Charles De Gaulle are the usual connective airport.
The nearest Ryanair hub is Bruxelles Charleroi, the connections are by bus preformed by flibcoo.
