The use of more renewable energy production and more efficient energy conversion systems are developing to contribute to sustainable development. At L2EP of University of Lille, the EMR (Energetic Macroscopic Representation) formalism has been developed to better understand and manage energy flow of various energy conversion systems. From 1996 to 2005, he was Associate Professor at University of Lille, France, where he has been a Professor since 2005. From 1998 to 2004, he managed the Multi-machine Multi-converter Systems project of GdR-ME2MS, national research program of CNRS (French National Centre of Scientific Research). From 2004 to 2019, he managed the national network on Energy Management of Hybrid Electric Vehicles (MEGEVH) France. Since 2015, he has been coordinator of the CUMIM (Campus of University with Mobility based on Innovation and Neutral carbon) interdisciplinary program of University of Lille. Since 2018, he has been co-director of the international research lab e-CAMPUS on sustainable mobility and also coordinator of PANDA a European H2020 project on simulation and testing of electrified vehicles.<br \/>\nHis research include graphical descriptions (Energetic Macroscopic Representation, etc.) for control of electric drives, renewable energy conversion systems, electrified vehicles and hardware-in-the-loop testing. His collaborative works with industry include Siemens, PSA Peugeot Citroen, Valeo, Renault and SNCF. In January 2014, he has been nominated Chair of the Vehicle Power Propulsion technical committee by IEEE Vehicular Technology Society. From 2014 to 2018, he was Associate Editor of IEEE transactions on Vehicular Technology. Since 2016, has been elected Distinguished Lecturer by IEEE VTS.<br \/>\nHe is currently head of the Master \u201cAutomatic control &amp; Electrical Systems\u201d of University of Lille (180 students), he manages the \u201cEMR\u201d units of different options of the Master, and he manages transversal unit \u201cSustainable Development Applications\u201d (seminars of worldwide scientist) of the option \u201cElectrical Engineering for Sustainable Development\u201d).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/l2ep.univ-lille.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/bs.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"100\" height=\"158\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-6856\" \/>Betty LEMAIRE-SEMAIL received the B.S.degree from Paris XI University, Orsay, France,in 1985, the Graduate degree in applied physics from Ecole Normale Superieure de Cachan, France, in 1986, the M.S. degree from Universities Paris VI and Paris XI, Orsay, France, in1987, the Ph.D. degree from the University of Paris XI, Orsay, France, in 1990, and the habilitation degree from the University of Science and Technology of Lille, Villeneuve-d\u2019Ascq, France, in 1997.From 1990 to 1998, she was an Assistant Professor with Ecole Centrale of Lille. She is currently a Professor with the University of Lille. Since2015, she has been the Head of the Electrical Engineering and Power Electronics Laboratory of Lille.
