Starting from a discussion of 1-D model, Kameari\u2019s Cauer ladder network (CLN) method is introduced. It is shown that the CLN method is equivalent to the self-adjoint Lanczos algorithm when the quasi-static Maxwell equations are discretized by the finite element method.
